November is National Runaway Prevention Month and Cyndi Lauper’s True Color Foundation wants to make sure you do your party by raising awareness of the runaway and homeless youth crisis and the issues that these young people face and by educating the public about solutions and the role they can play in ending youth homelessness.
Here’s the planned mass days of action:
‘Wear Green’ Day (11/12): Coordinate a ‘wear green’ day with your friends, coworkers, students, and/or classmates on Thursday, November 12. Every year, we take a green socks photo at the True Colors Fund office (check out the header image!).
Candlelight Vigil (11/19): Community groups and individuals across the country will be hosting candlelight vigils on Thursday, November 19 to show runaway and homeless youth that they are not alone.
Thunderclap (before 11/28): Our voices are stronger when we say something together. Join the National Runaway Safeline’s Thunderclap by November 28 to spread the word about National Runaway Prevention Month. It’s easy – just sign up with your Facebook, Twitter, and/or Tumblr account.
